GAMIS presents: Powell + Pressburger: Black Narcissus + Michelle Williams Gamaker

Glasgow Artists’ Moving Image Studios (GAMIS) are a new charity working with artists, architects and historians towards bringing cinema and the arts back to Govanhill.

The event addresses the racist casting choices made by Powell + Pressburger in 1947 and how Michelle Williams Gamaker uses her practice as a method of fictional activism/revenge/ healing in her films ‘Thieves’ and ‘House of Women’ and throughout her current solo exhibition, Our Mountains are Painted on Glass, currently on show at Dundee Contemporary Arts.
