Join us for a day of discussions inspired by Defiance: Fighting the Far Right – a new, landmark Channel 4 documentary series that examines the political and social struggles faced by Britain’s Asian community between 1976 and 1981. Across three panels, artists, filmmakers, historians and activists consider the issues, stories and contemporary resonances of the series.

A discussion on how artists from 1970s to today have created work exploring the events featured in Defiance: Fighting the Far Right  and related histories. Chaired by the art historian Alice Correia, with contributions from the filmmaker Alia Syed, the artist, composer and musician Bishi and the artist Michelle Williams Gamaker.
