![]() The exhibition Madame B: Exploraciones en el capitalismo emocional curated by Lucrecia Piedrahita Orrego opens in Medellín today, in two university galleries. One, Sala U, is an art gallery of the Universidad Nacional de Colombia sede Medellín, the other, the art gallery of the private university EAFIT. The challenging new element is the spread over two very different spaces, quite a distance apart. We have also posted photographs and a video tour. An enormously active media coverage helps, hopefully, to attract visitors to both sites. A dozen newspapers, radio, and four television programs add the news to the screens on the street.

![]() The event was organised by Anna Nojd and my talk focuses on performance, a key aspect of filmmaking, and how Mieke and I work with its different aspects in the Madame B project. I will consider how we have incorporated the performances of others as the adoption of past into present, and performativity as the underlying thrust of what continues to develop as a “quotational aesthetic” in our work. ![]() We are thrilled to announce the opening of the exhibition in Åland, as this is where we shot many of the scenes for Madame B. The opening was very special for myself and Mieke as many of the cast and crew joined and on top of this all, the whole show was curated by the producer of our film, Mervi Appel. Mervi now works as director of the Eckerö Post och Tullhus and made the exhibition possible in this beautiful venue next to the sea where Emma and Rodolphe meet in scene 6.
